Radoactive 131

Pretty uneventful normal day, nothing much happened. Crappy rainy weather and windy.
Saw a news story on local station about how radiation from the Japanese nuclear plant has found its way to Maryland waters. I click the link thinking "how the hell do they know this!?"

From the article:
Mike Schuh travelled to the area where it was detected and has more on if we should be concerned.

It blew into Maryland from 6700 miles away, across an ocean and a continent. Radioactive iodine 131 is found in four of the state’s eight detectors and in Baltimore’s rainwater.

wow...

How bout dem O's!

I know it is only the 3rd game of the season but the Orioles are 3-0 and I am excited for the upcoming season. My expectations are somewhat medium from them this year. They have made some pretty great pick ups in the off-season like Lee, Hardy and Guerro. The young starting pitching is looking absolutely fantastic. Unfortunately history tends to repeat itself and the wheels fall off this fast moving Oriole wagon pretty quickly. I hope that is not the case this year.

The bullpen is still a little rocky in my opinion. We have a Koji in the bullpen who I think is key, but the seem to always give these guys shots who really have no business having any more chances cough::Gonzalez:::cough.

I hope to make it to a few games this year. I have only gone to about 1 or 2 the past couple seasons. I always root for the Orioles win or lose, I just hope they keep things interesting the entire year.

160-0!! (lol)

Between the Buried and Me - The Parallax: Hypersleep Dialogues

1 word: WOW

I have had the liberty to listen to the new Between the Buried and Me (BTBAM) EP "The parallax: Hypersleep Dialogues" on metalsucks.net (http://www.metalsucks.net/2011/03/31/exclusive-ep-stream-between-the-buried-and-mes-the-parallax-hypersleep-dialogues/) I was absolutely blown away by this 3 song masterpiece.

I will have to say every BTBAM has failed to disappoint my ear, but I was not expecting this 3 song EP to be THIS amazing. It really encompasses the BTBAM sound and what they are about. If you are a fan of any metal music I implore you to click the link above and give it a listen. When your mind is blown, go check out thier masterpiece album titled "Colors" and have it blown again.

My ear and brain really crave the progressive metal sound and these guy know how to fulfill that craving.

I understand that this type of music may not be everyone's cup of tea, even for metal fans, but these guys should not be overlooked. I love how they experiment with their sound. One instance being how the track "Augment of Rebirth", goes from a great metal riff/instrumental section then break down into what can only be described as a strange organ grinder type music, then back into an awesome metal guitar riff and vocals.

I have pre-ordered this album which comes along with an awesome t-shirt I cannot to get in the mail. The EP is only 3 tracks but the running time is around 30 minutes so it is a pretty decent length. That being said, I need more BTBAM!!

Track Listing:
1. Specular Reflextion
2. Augment of Rebirth
3. Lunar Wilderness
Release Date: April 12, 2011

Rating: 5/5
